We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team.

Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for categories across indirect spend, packaging and raw materials as required and as part of your ongoing professional development across the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Promote Safety, Quality and Process within the business and ensure SQP thinking is incorporated into all purchasing decisions
• Management of direct reports as required in either raw or packaging material sourcing.
• Obtain quotations (RFP, RFO or formal tender) from suppliers
• Responsible for acquiring required quotations, maintaining pricing system and procurement metrics including category spend analysis, PPV management and setting budget standard prices.
• Analysis of RFP, RFO and tender responses received from the market.
• Complete contract recommendations for business approval.
• When required, conduct contract negotiation, implementation, and management in conjunction with the Procurement Manager
• Manage selected supplier relationships in support of Procurement Manager
• Coordinate samples and establish specifications with suppliers to meet marketing and R&D briefs
• Support the Procurement Manager in identifying and evaluating alternate materials or suppliers that may provide quality or cost improvements
• Assist with embedding a culture of innovation and internal customer service within the Procurement team.
• Actively communicate with the Marketing, Operations, Quality and Innovation functions of the Business to understand both their specific NPD issues and needs, and broad, strategic aims and requirements.
• Manage the allocation and creation of SAP item numbers for new materials.

You will have:

  • Strong leadership skills with the capacity to positively influence people and to initiate and deliver change independently or through teamwork
  • Over 3 years of experience working in procurement sourcing roles within FMCG organisations preferably food manufacturing FMCG
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and effective presentation skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills needed to manage and communicate detailed and practical plans.
  • Strong logical and lateral thinking skills with a demonstrated capacity for innovation.
  • Capacity to develop, maintain and effectively utilise information management and reporting systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced competency in computer-based communication and information management tools (Word, Excel, Power point, BI reports)
  • Understanding of either or the Raw Materials, Packaging and Indirects categories in FMCG environment
  • Detailed working knowledge of the entire Supply Chain
