We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Development Technologist to join our Research & Development team on an initial 24 month contract. Reporting to the Senior Product Technologist, you will be responsible for the development and formulation of new products, dairy ingredients and ongoing evaluation and assessment of current products.
Note, regular travel to our regional location in Colac, Victoria will be required
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the product development efforts of the company to deliver Bulla's NPD requirements.
- Manage the technical aspects of product development through investigation, planning, execution, evaluating and reporting of new products/processes.
- Support the Bulla Stage & Gate process to ensure that all projects are managed with strict adherence to our processes and procedures to enable projects to be launched on time and within budget.
- Ensure all NPD is in line with FSANZ & other regulatory requirements.
- Work effectively & collaboratively with cross functional teams to ensure the successful commercialisation of NPD projects.
- Manage the technical aspects of NPD as they relate to process, product & packaging; take projects from scoping to launch in conjunction with cross functional team members.
- Provide technical support to other areas of the business (for example Operations, Sales, International, Procurement, Quality) as required.
You will have:
- Degree in Food Technology or Dairy Technology equivalent
- Minimum 2+ years of on-the-job experience
- Ability to travel to the different operational and sales sites within Victoria (primarily Derrimut, Colac, Mulgrave & Dandenong).
- Ability to taste & appraise dairy products
- Broad knowledge of Food and Dairy Technology
- Knowledge of flavour and stabiliser technology
- Broad knowledge of product development processes, particularly the Stage and Gate process
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including the ability to manage workplace communication and effective workplace relationships.
