We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Excellence (OE) & NPD Lead to join our operations team. You will be responsible for driving operational performance improvement through Bulla Excellence System and Tools (BEST) framework at our new manuifacturing facility, coordinating the integration and implementation of NPD projects, managing inventory on site by supervising the efficient flow of factory related ERP (SAP etc) data, Fault finding, cycle counting and adjustments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Learn and lead Bulla Excellence System and Tools (BEST) methodology at Hearn St. site
- Support the development and frameworks, tools, processes, techniques and systems used to identify, measure, manage, monitor and report on BEST
- Work with the Group OE Lead and OE team to Identify and prioritise long term BEST objectives
- Provide regular training across Operations in both classroom and on-the-job settings to build capability
- Encourage the development of a continuous improvement culture across the organisation by acting as a consultant for the business, advising on projects, coaching staff, communicating continuous improvement activities and providing shared learning opportunities on continuous improvement tools
- Guide and motivate staff to continuously improve their workplaces and outputs and coach and encourage management to act as continuous improvement leaders
- Identify where opportunities exist and support a series of aggressive cost-out initiatives across Operations
- Facilitate the integration and implementation of NPD projects within the plant
- In conjunction with key Operations team members, assess long term Sales & Marketing plans with respect to capability and capacity needs across the plants and provide recommendations for developments
- Participation in Operations projects concerning the development of our operations to meet long term strategic plans
- Proactively seek out operations technologies, ideas and opportunities which meet our corporate and category strategies and communicate these opportunities to appropriate employees
- Participate in inventory accuracy improvement activities
- Highlight production variances, and assist in their rectification
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly and other reports as required utilising information systems.
- End of month and Year Inventory activities as required.
You will have:
- A strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (BEST / TPM / LEAN / IWS)
- Detailed technical and working knowledge of operational/manufacturing processes as they relate to the frozen range of products
- A practical understanding of organisational behaviour and change principles
- Strong leadership skills with the capacity to positively influence people and to initiate and deliver change independently or through teamwork
- Excellent communication (verbal and writing), presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyse complex information to accurately determine operational priorities and technical solutions
- Capacity to develop, maintain and effectively utilise information management and reporting systems
- Minimum two (2) years CI (BEST/TPM/LEAN/IWS) experience in a manufacturing environment, or experience in CI driven environment
- Competency in computer-based communication and information management tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and financial/operations management systems (e.g. SAP)
