We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Maintenance Electrician to join our operations team. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for equipment installation, maintenance and repairs on machinery comprising of complex interconnected PLC and pneumatic systems and electrical hard wiring and installations up to 650 Volts.

Hours (rotating roster):

Successful applicants will be required to work on a rotating roster across multiple days and shift times including.

  • Morning 4am-12pm
  • Afternoon 12pm-8pm
  • Overnight 8pm-4am

When working the Morning or Afternoon shift when required there will also be Saturday morning work.

Pay:

  • Additional penalty rates and allowances including 15% loading for the morning and afternoon shift and 30% for night shift apply!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform high precision trade skills using various materials, operation of electrical test equipment and specialized techniques
  • Install, repair, commission and maintain equipment incorporating complex interconnected Pneumatic, PLC and Servo systems
  • Carry out electrical hard wiring and connections up to 650 Volts
  • Connect and disconnect electrically operated equipment throughout the production facility
  • Assist in maintenance of industrial ammonia refrigeration plant electrical control systems
  • Examine, diagnose modify and repair plant and equipment incorporating complex interconnected Pneumatic, PLC and Servo systems (including ordering that machinery cease work if appropriate)
  • Apply computer operations as required for maintenance of PLC/SCADA systems incorporating industrial communications networks including fault finding and PLC program analysis
  • Perform computer operations as required for maintenance department operations, information and recording of electrical wiring systems modifications or installations
  • Operate lifting and load shifting equipment
  • Provide assistance to other maintenance staff with breakdown and general factory maintenance
  • Maintain documentation pertinent to the work area
  • Use equipment as per safety instructions, and wear protective clothing and equipment as required
  • Demonstrate ongoing continuous commitment to O.H &S principles and compliance with Company safety tag and lockout procedures
  • Assist in the training of production personnel in operation of production equipment in a safe and efficient manner

You will have:

  • Hold a General Engineering Class 1 C10 Trades Certificate in Electrical and Electronics, or any other trades certificate to the same level
  • Hold the relevant post trades certificate/s, or correct number of modules which relate to C8 post trades classification, or be able to demonstrate capabilities to C8 level
  • Possess the necessary manual dexterity and physical capability required to perform manual handling tasks as associated with this position
  • To have a sound understanding of Occupation Health and Safety requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Provide availability for working standard hours and overtime as required for maintenance functions
  • Be capable of accurate interpretation of verbal and written work instructions, technical drawing (electrical circuits etc.) and technical information
  • Basic computer literacy and computer record keeping skills
  • Competently diagnose and repair equipment incorporating complex interconnected Pneumatic, PLC and Servo systems
  • Be qualified and conversant with PLC/SCADA programming techniques including fault finding and commissioning of PLC/SCADA systems
